Where did you learn to cook?
Both my mum and dad are great cooks so I’ve probably grown up learning from them. Unlike Harriet, I am not a trained chef so I am learning a lot from watching her work in the kitchen and acting as her sous chef!
Favourite place?
I love being up in the Alps, in particular Val Thorens (the top of the Three Valleys). A week skiing in the sunshine is perfection for me.
What made you decide to become a Dietitian?
Growing up abroad, I have always had a love for different cultures, of which food is a huge part. I have also always been fascinated with how the human body works, which is why I chose to study Physiology at University. Then whilst studying, my Dad became ill and as part of his treatment he saw a Dietitian. She had such a positive impact during such a difficult time and I found this incredibly inspiring and realised I wanted to pursue a career whereby I am able to help people pursue better health.
Happiest When?
Eating sushi!
Favourite song to cook to?
I have only two playlists in my life – the first one is comprised solely of Fleetwood Mac, which I listen to at home whilst being domestic and the other, a mixture of dance tunes which I listen to whilst running.
First memory of Harriet?
Harriet and I have know each other for almost 17 years (gosh that makes me feel old!) having gone to school in Cheltenham together. My first memory of Harriet was on a school trip to Symonds Yat in the Wye Valley. Everyone had to partner up for the canoe trip and I ended up in a canoe with the naughtiest boy in our year! Once we were out on the water he decided to paddle in the opposite direction to the rest of the class – in effect taking me hostage! I can remember Harriet and our friend Annie in fits of laughter just watching as we drifted further and further away…
What’s in your fridge?
You’ll always find Greek yoghurt, semi skimmed milk, red peppers and chicken breasts.
What do you use most in the kitchen?
I use a lot of garlic in my cooking.
